Quincy Jones To Re-Record ‘We Are the World’
Quincy Jones Quincy Jones will re-record charity single ‘We Are the World’ on Monday (01.02.10). The legendary producer will be meeting with a host of music stars in Los Angeles at the start of next week to re-interpret the 1985 track to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquakes. Quincy said: “It’s the 25th anniversary and it’s perfect timing. It’s not an accident, man. That’s God. It will be ‘We Are the World’ for Haiti.” Lionel Richie – who co-wrote the song with the late Michael Jackson – will feature on the new version, while Usher, John Legend, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Will Smith, Sheryl Crow and Natalie Cole are all rumoured to be taking part.
