Chris Allen… err Kris Allen wins American Idol 2009

i’m happy that kris won, but Adam is a good singer too. I’m hopefully wrong, but i think that people incharge of Idol had something to do with kris winning it too. They probably have albums set up for adam to make so they felt bad enough that they gave the winning to kris instead. if that is true, then i’m over watching idol. i just hate the way that system goes.
I also wondered how a child star ( granted not a well-known one), could have been allowed on idol. isn’t there a rule about american idol contestants not having experience in the music/tv business? anyway it’s over. so good luck to kris in the future and i’m sure we’ll all be hearing more on adam soon.

I am thoroughly disquisted, Adam, by far was the better singer and clearly America is F***ed up in their thinking. I think this is the last time I watch this rip of a show. Simon was debating on this being his last season. Well, I think this would be a good cue to leave. I can’t believe America thought Kris was BETTER than ADAM. UNF***ING BELIEVABLE. Must not be americans, must be foreign craker hating towel heads doing all the voting. I would hate to be in Kris’s shoes, he knows he shouldn’t have won, what a joke this show has turned out to be. Maybe next year they should eliminate the “SAVE” and make a “VETO AMERICAS VOTE” by unanimous judge voting.

“This is a singing competition!” … we have heard that over and over … now we find out that it is a popularity competition. Anyone with ears can tell that Kris was not the best singer in thr group. Based on his singing abilities, Kris wasn’t even in the top 5. However, young and cute appeals to 12 year old female voters who live on their cell phones. Kris was more popular with that group and that’s why he won.

America truly got it wrong. While Kris has talent, he doesn’t come close to being the super star that Adam is. Adam by far is the most compelling contestant ever on Idol. He is amazing and will be the next American Icon. I’m sorry to see that this turned into a popularity contest.

The voting scheme is set up all wrong. Everyone should be allowed one vote per household. That would eliminate the injustice that we see on this type of show. I agree with Wayne Eastman. Kris didn’t belong in the finale. Just goes to show you that a teenager with a cell phone is a dangerous thing.

I wanted Kris to win, but I thought Adam was going to win. Adam was the better singer and probely will have the better career in music. Kris shouldn’t have been in the Finale, Adam Was clearly better and deserved to win. I believe, and I hope I’m wrong, this had something to do with the rumor that Adam was Gay. Some people have a problem with that. American Idol is turning into more popularity than singing. I probely wont watch next year becuase of this.

I can't believe Adam didn't win!!! He did have the best voice, hands down. I predict that his career will exceed Kris'. I don't like rock but I did like Adam and his personality was always so respectful and appreciative. Never cocky.

Wait just a minute all you people. Teenage girls were not the only one's voting for Kris Allen. I am in my 40's and I voted for him. i also know of alot of people in 20's and 30's that voted for him. Congrats Kris! I was pulling for either kris or danny and once danny got eliminated I think most of the people voting for danny went with kris for the finale. Adam is an amazing singer but his style of singing doesn't appeal to the masses the same way kris's does. But congrats to them both….hopefully they'll both have amazing careers.

I had picked Chris to come in second with Adam Lambert as the new American Idol for 2009. I felt all along as Simon suggested that Adman may not win but should. If this is going to become a popularity contest instead of a vocal, artist competition then I am not so sure that I want to watch these performances anymore..

Adam is a shining star. He will definitely go far….I'm sure he has MANY recording giants knocking on his door with contract offers.

History proves that the person who wins the idol title is often surpassed by better performers who were on the show. Adam will be in this category for sure. Best wishes.

The votes don't count for anything other than the 50 cents per call Idol gets.The money guys decide who gets the win.Think about it, the only year they screwed up was when Carrie Underwood won,she WAS the best that year.Every other year the second best(in the final) won.Adam don't need the win to sell records,Kris does.They will never waste the crown on the guy who will sell millions of CD's without it. Kris will get one record,then lose his deal ala Taylor Hicks,Fantasia and other “winners”. The rule is that a contestant cannot have a record contract,they are allowed to have experience.On Tuesday night the judges were setting it up for Kris to win.Remember Randy said “Adam was pitchy” Simon said after the second song “Adam's BACK in the game”!!!! Once again America has proven its intolerance and prejudice with its vote not for Chris Allen,but with its vote against the openly “Gay” contestant Adam Lambert.Adam is likely the best singer and performer to ever step foot on the American Idol stage.One may have thought that America had grown up a bit with its election of Barack Obama, but obviously it remains the most socially backward nation in the western world.

Your comment about the tongue thing being disgusting indicates your lack of knowledge of singing and how sound is produced. For a high not to be sung correctly the tongue has to move forward to at least the back of the bottom teeth. The positioning of Adam Lambert's tongue while singing high notes indicates a well-trained and disciplined singer. Where someone like Kris may end up with vocal damage like nodes for simply singing his basic songs, Adam's impeccable technique will allow him to sign those high notes consistently without harming his vocal cords allowing him to sing through to the late stages of his life. Congratulations are in order to Kris however, as he did well to make it to the final and win the hearts of the voting public, even though that voting public may not have voted for the best singer, but the devout Christian.

At first I was routing for Adam…However once Kris sang 'Heartless' by Kanye West with his acoustic guitar this proved to me that he can make music and make an emotional connection with people. But what disappointed me about Kris is when he was crowned the winner of American Idol, he quickly stated that, “This doesn't belong to me, it belongs to Adam.” I guess Simon is right by saying that he needs to start believing in himself that he is a winner….Cuz your fans certainly does…Start believing in yourself Kris.

Adam really did get more over all votes, but his voters didn't vote as many times. Kris had less votes, but those voters voted continuously for four hours straight. This is the travesty, of the voting system set up by AI, but AI makes more money if people can vote more times. Adam really did win based on more individual votes. More people voted for him. This is a flawed voting system. They should only allow one vote per line, but then how would AI make any money. You'll see when album sales are calculated – Adam will outsell Kris by millions. And that's what really matters. At least Adam doesn't have to record that ridiculous AI song. He'll be fine and I can't wait to see him in concert – how great will that be!

Adam Lambert is more talented and definitely a better singer when compared to Kris. Bunch of 12 year old girls have voted for Kris & the entire show became a popularity contest instead of talent contest! The truth is that Adam will have much bigger career and Chris will not. You ask me why? Because Kris is boring & he far from being a good & original singer :-/ Adam on the other hand is unique & has amazing vocals & he's very original! He was been one of the most talented contestants on the American Idol so far! So there I said it. I am thrilled that Kris won. I actually wanted Danny to win, but Kris was second best. Adam was good, but his songs were way to DARK for me. I mean…the way he sung, “Ring of Fire.” Come on…That was horrible….and scary.

In my opinion Kris Allen deserved to win the title of American Idol and he did it fairly. Some people in the entertainment field have their opinion that Adam Lambert should have been the winner. They need to shut up about that now as Kris was voted by America as the winner.
Adam is more of an aquired taste. He is a good singer, but relies on lighting, costume and his “look” to get noticed. I think that Kris is the much better singer of the two. He has a strong and wonderful voice that I really like. Adam has a good voice, but tends to be a bit screammy, especially when he goes for those higher notes. Both are good performers and singers, but Kris is the better singer and has more appeal than Adam who is more a heavy rock genre.
Let Kris enjoy his win. Adam is a gentlemen and classy guy in his acceptance of the outcome of America's vote. Why can't the press and other entertainment people do the same?
Kris deserved to win and was a gracious winner. I plan to get his first CD as soon as it comes out. I will not be getting Adam's as his singing, although good, is not my taste. I know that both singers will do well in the future, but for now let Kris enjoy his much deserved win. Great job, Kris!!! I voted for you.

I think that people voted for Chris because they liked Chris and it had nothing to do with being anti-gay. I live in a major American City, voted for Obama and am a firm believer that gay marriage should be legal in America. I voted for Chris, because I liked Chris and it had nothing to do with how I felt about Adam. I liked Adam, I just liked Chris better. In the beginning of the season I felt that Adam had a stage presence that none of the others could compete with. However the other contestants got stronger and more confident and I felt Adam had some good competition. I voted for Allison a couple of times but when she left I didn't vote until last night. I thought that Chris's performance of “What's going on” was Brilliant and my favorite performance of the season. When Chris and Adam sang last night and I could see them side by side I was just drawn to Chris. I'm sure that Adam will have a fantastic career ahead of him, but I like Chris better.

Adam should have won! Adam had much more range and a much better voice. Kris was middle of the road, dull, boring, karioke sounding, milk taost singer. Ugh!
Adam was ROBBED! I think the “tweens”, those kids who love the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana voted en mass for boring milk toast Kris. Those children aged 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 loved the MARRIED boring karioke singer Kris.
Too bad. His voice wasn't much better than a cruise ship singer or I may compare Kris Allen to Jason Castro, a non winner from a previous AI season. At least Castro had more “flava” about him.
I think Kris is PATHETIC and he did NOT deserve to win. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it!

Kris seems like a really nice guy but talent wise Adam always blew him out of the water. I am from arkansas and I know that this state has just gone crazy over kris allen because we never have anything cool happen to this state. From what I understand 40% of the votes came from arkansas and about 95% of those votes were for Kris Allen. Everyone around here keeps saying that the reason why they voted for kris was mainly because they didn't like how Adam came off as “gay”. I think it's really sad that people are still so afraid of someone that is “different”. I'd much rather listen to Adam's crazy different style of music vs. Kris Allens boring/vanilla blend. That's just my opinion though.

I would like to congratulate Chris Allen!!! Some of you hoping him fail; as a country I believe we should support and love one and another regarless of the outcomes. I am not creazy about Adam's look, however he can sing and he has a great personality. I am hoping and praying that they both will have a great career. Please America do not talk awful about them they are children of our country. Originally I am not from this country, but I cannot believe how Americans are cursing each for just a show.

OMG! Obviously Kris was America's favorite singer. …not that freak Adam. Adam did not have the best voice – that's a matter of opinion. Adam was weird and dark. A lot of people didn't like his screeching style of music and his over the top theatrics. (Didn't that crappy hard rock go out of style in the 80's?) Just because people don't like Adam's music doesn't mean they didn't vote for him b/c he is gay as some are suggesting.

That's my two cents….

I am just as curious as the next person to hear what people are saying about the outcome as I too thought that Adam was by far the outright BEST TALENT from day one. I have watched the show off and on since its inception, and I attribute this result to the time that Daughtry was voted off. It was quite dissappointing to watch and actually quite shocking. If you are a music fan in any respect, you would have known then that Daughtry was the most polished performer in that contest and the same should be said about Adam.
Adam was a professional in a contest full of amateurs. Whether it is staged or not, Kris did not earn that title. Just as he stated after the contest, he did not deserve to win. I am not saying that he isn't a worthy contestant, just that Adam is by far the best performer that has ever been part of the show. In fact, they should have taken him out of the contest after the first two weeks and he wouldn't have made everyone else look so inferior. However, I can guarantee that a good portion of people that watched the show tuned in just see what he was going to do next. That is a true artist…

I think people are being haters!! Kris is the best of the two. I have a problem with Simon and I am glad America voted in what they believed was the better man and not what Simon thought… After all this is about what Americans feel is the best and that is what gets the sales and the awards!! I will be glad if Simon wont be around next year, coz he is really pathetic!! Go Kris, we are all waiting for your album… you are the man!!

I think americans are sort of dumb, well, adam is a much better singer, especially when he turns the song “If i can''t have you” into such a touching and romantic song. He's a genius. Obviously he's much better at stage appearances and his ability to revamp a song is far more superb than that boring country boy kris. Kris voice is too common, just like any other Idols from the previous seasons.

adam lambert will be a superstar with his charisma, talent, being smart and good presentation. he did not need to win the AI, he was a winner from the start. the americans are not ready to accept this type of entertainer as their idol but adam surely was the most exciting and interesting contestant ever they had at ID. they need to produce more like adam to keep the AI going.

I too was pulling for Kris. I just don't believe that a man dressed in drag, kissing guys, is the person that should represent America. Granted, we have the rights to choose what we do, who we are with, and whatever else, but the bottom line is, there are still the very traditional people in America who believe in the basis of what our country was built on. Men and Women being together and a good ole' boy is still what should represent our country. Call it biased, but I don't believe the things Adam does are right, nor acceptable…not for my children and I am super happy about Kris' win!

Then where are the number 2's. You don't hear from them. You won't see Adam either. I guarantee that. He screams. Kris is an artist and a musician. What instruments does Adam play? Kris is exactly what the majority of people listen to. There is only a limited group that can stomach a whole CD of KISS and Queen…yuck!

This was the best vote them…this is what America should be about. Our country's motto…”In God We Trust”. There are several well trained singers that can hit the notes that Adam sings and even better and none of them stick their tounge out like a dog. I don't believe the hanging out tounge is at all necessary…a show maybe!

What I find so funny is that it is the minorities that like to point out how intolerant society is. I believe that the hardest partt for the minorities to accept is that America is very tolerable and they are loosing ground to stand on. We have a black president and every day the “gay” thing is more accepted every day. My problem with the marriage things is that it is not right. Marriage is a union between a man and woman. I think that because America was build on the foundation of “In God We Trust”…this is what should lead us in the future. You have the ability to be with the same sex, but leave marriage as a sacred bond for those of us who remain traditional. Same sex relationships are not what I call normal, but that is beside the point…this is about American Idol….go KRIS!

The question isn't always about “who's the better singer, or who's got more range, but, who's more enjoyable to listen to, who makes you groove within your soul, and Kris is the answer for me for both of those questions. Obviously Adam is very talented, but c'mon, can you really sit back, close your eyes and get chills with Adam, I don't think so. I think you should calm down and try to find something positive to say about the winner!

I'm with you Barb, I'm in my 40's too, and I thought Kris was the obvious winner. His voice, soul and charm can just tear right into me. As far as your comment about screeching…….the other guy was talented too, but not on an “enjoyable artist to listen to” basis.

I just can't stop thinking why some people think Adam should have have had won the AI title.Okay he sings nicely, but so with Danny and Kris. They simply have different styles and obviously, different music type. I thought Kris is very deserving of the title. He has the ability to communicate through songs-that is what makes a person a musician.As they say, music is a universal language, which means that anybody who attempts to do music should be able to communicate. This is one thing that Kris possesses. Adam has the ability to entertain but that's about it. I wish both the best but I am eagerly awaiting for Kris' first CD to come out. Congratulations, Kris and keep playing your music. Hey by the way, have you noticed the impact he made when he sang “she works hard for the money” during disco week? That was really awesome.That was my absolutely my point when I said he can communicate. This guy can transform music according to his style even the original will admire.
