Chris Hemsworth is THOR — Captain Kirk’s Papa is now the Son of Odin

Nikki Finke just scored a massive scoop by discovering that the man who will wield Mjolnir’s Hammer in Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor” is none other than…Chris Hemsworth.

Who is Chris Hemsworth? Mr. Hemsworth can currently be seen for all of five minutes in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” as George Kirk who not only was the captain a starship for 12 minutes and saved 800 souls, his seed created James T. Kirk. So not exactly a breakout role but Hemsworth already has massive projects on the horizon. He’s cast in the lead of the remake of “Red Dawn” and will also be in Joss Whedon/Drew Goddard’s “Cabin in the Woods”.

But no role he’s had thus far, even his 166 episodes in the long-running Australian Soap Opera, “Home and Away”, which still qualifies him as a unknown here in the states, will compare with the …
