Of course I can’t really speak on this because I wasn’t there. I was all the way across the country in North Carolina, but if you ask me, this sounds like a bunch of bull. A freakin tall tale. I find it very hard to believe that Dolla would be involved in something like that. He was going places. Why would he be into that? Just my opinion.

I went to HS in Houston with Aubrey and this whole story is SAD! He was a great kid but was always teased and tormented by others.

I've been surfing the net attempting to find out what happened during this awful situation and found this article. It is sad for both families. Aubrey is my close relative. He was never a troubled kid nor did he look for trouble. I believe what was written. What would you do? I realize he looks like a flight risk due to the fact that he was attempting to leave the city and come back to Houston where the most of our family resides. He had to be afraid or in shock! Stop placing blame or pointing the finger until all the facts are released. I hate Aubrey fired the guy and I terribly hate that a life was lost. But if this guy jumped him in Atlanta and was now encircling him for an ambush at PF Chang, again, what would you do or have done!!!

I agree. I met Aubrey back in 04. We all moved from Houston around the same time and I met him through another friend of ours who attended Clark. We took him in as a little brother. And you are right he has always been a down to earth mellow person; good person; never been in any trouble. So for this to have happened is very shocking. I am sorry for the loss of Dolla and my prayers go out to his family. But there is two sides to every story and the truth needs to be stated. I know nothing about Dolla and what kind of person he was so I can't say that he was a gang member or anything; but I do know Aubrey Berry and he had to have been afraid for his life to have done something like this.

I keep hearing the same thing “this wasnt Aubrey” and being that I know people who know him, its kinda weird. I dont know him, so I cant judge HIM or HIS character but from whats being told he seemed like somebody who was just living life and got caught up in some bullshit. Nowadays you have to have a gun because you never know when you might be in danger, and I know ALOT of people who ARENT killers, criminals, went to college, got a degree, have a job, have a home, have kids…but are still licensed to carry because they dont know when something might happen, especially if you are at clubs 3, 4, 5 times a week. Someone said before “why would he have a gun at PF Changs and not a strip club”…trust me, if your life is threatened once and youre licensed to carry but chose not to, youre gonna start carrying that pistol no matter where you are. Like someone said before, the only people who know what happened are AB, Dolla and God. And I pray that he blesses the families of both men.

And everybody keeps looking for holes, but if you go back and read past articles you will see that Dolla's rep said he was shot in the head…she told that to the LA Times. She also said Dolla had an altercation with people on the plane, but there was NEVER a connection made between Aubrey and the altercation. I just took a psychology and law class and there has only been ONE witness to say the shooter was female, and in alot of cases, especially violent ones, some things can be falsified. If the shooter was a woman, why did the DESCRIPTION OF THE SUSPECT fit a male, Aubrey? Wouldnt they have been looking for a female instead? Like I said, I dont know Aubrey, dont know Dolla, but now I know what its like to look at it from a “relatives” perspective and not just a fan's.

This person sure has a lot of information. Hmm… If the restaurant was “filled with the Mansfield Crip gang members,” why did only 3 of the members accompany Dolla during the pursuit of Aubrey? Also, if Aubrey was so close that he could only aim at Dolla's head, wouldn't he have been too close to the gang members to avoid being shot? None of these gang members shot him? Though I have many other questions, I will only ask one more. Isn't it an unsual coincidence that these people would run into each other like this so soon in a different state? This story seems flawed. On another note, the whole situation is sad regardless of the backgrounds of those involved in it. People can not come back from death. I hate how some people treat the lives of others so casually. If the situation had been reversed, I would still have the same questions and feelings. I hope Dolla can rest in peace and I hope that the person who murdered him gets life… (without parole of course).

I did not mention this earlier but I pray that the families and friends of Dolla and Aubrey(whether he was the one who committed this crime or not) can make it through this terrible tragedy.

Aubrey had been planning to move to LA for awhile. He's an event promoter; him and his partner went out there to meet a club promoter for a party they were having this Saturday. So yes they “happened” to be in the same city whether you believe it or not. If you do not know neither one of them you should not have that much to say on the situation. Plus there were cameras in the restaurant. So if what was said was true then the evidence will be in the video.

One Aubrey is one of my bestfriends I spoke with him that day and two logically at what airport do you think there's going to be a confrontation and LAPD does not detain anyone! i knew dolla as well so my heart is broken by the whole situation! for the most part the bulk of what Jason has said s what has been confirmed to me from his family. Aubrey has been coming back and forth for over a year promoting parties. Nearly all young people in Atlanta travel to La and anyone in LA goes to the beverly center so…. Dolla had nothing to rob and Aubrey is not a monster! I know them boh and spoke to one earlier that day so i can assure you it was a coincidence. Aubrey was having a meeting and Dolla was on a date, the friends of Dolla were called, which is why there is a delay in the time they say each other and when the fight broke out. By the time Dollas friends arrived he was getting his car at valet because there was one of him, by the time the car got there things happened

Aubrey was a very playful, sweet person. I pray for him, his family and the family of dollas. It' a so sad when lives of talented people are taken so young. Like everyone has said, This is a sad situation. I went to School with Aubrey at Clark Atlanta University, he was a real good guy. He was never a trouble maker, quiet, and always will be the first person to lend out a helping hand. I lived in Atlanta for five years, and a lot of these rappers down there are wanna be thugs. I honestly think that Aubrey Berry is innocent. I have known this kid for years when he lived in houston, texas and went to school with my little brother McCollins Umeh. Aubrey Berry you are in our prayers. Keep your head up and let God do all the work. Also dolla and family is in our prayers sorry for the lost.

I have known Aubrey for a number of years and I just can not imagine him being a flat-out murderer. I don't condone the untimely death of any man and I definitely pray for Dolla and his family. There wasn't an incident at the airport. Dolla's publicist made that up. In statement released by Dolla's family they even say that what the publicist said was untrue and that she shouldn't have said anything. I personally know Aubrey Berry, he is not a thug or gangster and does not act in that manner. He is a college graduate from Clark Atlanta University, and owns multiple companies including a barbershop and a restaurant. I'm not saying that what he did was right but I do believe he feared Dolla may have been a threat. The incident at Platinum 21 was not fabricated, Dolla and his entourage jumped A.B. Dolla is not as squeeky clean as some people are saying. He may not be in gang but he has been known to hang out with gang members.Regardless of any of that two families are losing a son, one to death and the other to jail, it's a very tragic situation.

This is true… I know AB (Aubrey Berry) very well, thats my Lil Homey. AB used to cut my hair, since 05. I knew when he was a freshmen at Clark. I was also at his graduation (even got pics). I was on of his mentors in sense…I am10 years his senior. AB is a smart ambitious brotha…not a hot head. I know his gun is registered because he gave me the paperwork to register mine. For AB to shoot and kill someone it had to be for self defense. AB is a young cat, who listened to old timers for wisdom. AB just wants to be a successful entrepreneur, the honest way. He was doing real well as a promoter, he was doing bigger and more exclusive events. AB will beat this, once the truth unfolds. I just wanted to say that my prayers go out to Dolla's family.I think this is sad because we are dealing with young people losing their lives over the streets. These were two young very talented men and they where having their beef with one another but they took it a little to far. There are so many stories and only Dolla and Aubrey knows what happened. As his cousin, I must say that Aubrey was a smalltime drug dealer, that's some knowledge that I've gained recently.
He just lost face during a strip club fight. Dolla's entourage didn't gang up on him, Aubrey was getting a lap dance from this one stripper, his time with the stripper was about to expire, when Dolla stepped on the scene and the stripper along with others went over to him; leaving AB unpleasant because he didn't get his all of his time w/ the stripper. From what I've heard a couple of days afterwards, the whole thing started when AB gave Dolla a men mug, one of Dolla's friend asked him did he has a problem, and Aubrey started cussing him out. So it seemed like cuzzo started the whole thing, he should've just let it go. But he's known to just hold on to things, he just won't let things slide. I can't really believe he went this far tho. Dolla was unarmed, and even if Dolla was talking mess to him, he didn't deserve to get killed, and his other friends shot at. NONE of his friends were armed, there's nothing that could've provoked him to KILL somebody. There's no coming back from that. He pulled a coward move, now he deserves what's coming to him. ok… this thread was posted in various places and the author admitted that the information was obtained by a cousin that happens to be a CO at the jail where Berry is being held. not quite sure how that classifies him as knowing all the facts or since when hearing 3rd or 4th party information(even from yo cousin) became qualified at being 110% true. NOW… as a witness to the incident that happened in Atlanta at Platinum 21(that part is true), DOLLA’s entourage was moving through the spot and a man, later identified as Berry, bumped a girl(walking with the entourage). the girl turns and says something to berry, berry gets back at her, they’re having words(some real foul), dudes turn to address the issue telling dude not to be talking to the female that way, berry then tells the dude “fuck you, nigga… what you gone do” and some mo shyt. dude(not Dolla) bust dude(berry) in the grill. dude ended up on the ground getting stomped out. that’s it. Dolla wasn’t trying to rob dude like folks is sayin’. Dolla wasn’t trying to get at the same girl dude was talkin’ to.

don’t know what happened at the airport. don’t know what happened in the valet area at the mall in LA…

I don't know Dolla or Aubrey but there are some holes in this story. Any person with sense knows that. I'm sure P.F. Changs would've called the cops if the Crips was just posted up in there and the cops would've been there a.s.a.p simply because of the area there were in. And, you tellin me that a group of Crips approached this man and didn't nobody get shot but Dolla? I'm sure somebody would've been holdin something if that was the truth. I agree with you. There's nothing anywhere that states exactly what a killer should look like, act like, etc. Even Ted Bundy was considered extremely charming and charismatic when he wasn't killing women for fun. I don't know either party and I'm praying for both of their families because both sides have lost a son, brother, nephew, or cousin. Two very young lives, both with much potential, have now been wasted to senseless violence regardless of the reason or whose fault it actually was. I have one more question: What has happened to innocent until proven guilty in this country? Does it really even exist anymore. Would anyone even care if Dolla wasn't famous (other than his family, friends, and other loved ones)? Would we be so willing to cast judgement on Berry if Dolla weren't a rapper or would we be willing to give him a little benefit of the doubt? Again, I find this all very sad and feel for their families. I am a mother to four boys and can't imagine losing one of them like this, on both sides of the story. Someone posted that we are human and have the power of communication. This is very true. Guns and knives are not the only way to get someone's attention.

All of you that are struggling so much with the idea of the two parties being in the same place at the same time are obviously stuck in some small town somewhere and probably dont get out very often.
There are major “circles” of what you people may consider socialites that live in ATL or in LA and frequent both cities. I, personally am a part of that circle and am familiar with both parties. I travel between both cities and VERY often “bump into” people that i am familiar with who reside (or spend more of their time in) my opposite city.

They bumped into each other at the Beverley Center…..I wouldnt call that a coincidence at all. Platinum 21 is a very popular ATL Venue and PF Changs is a very popular restaurant for the same “circle” of people who attend Platinum.
It would be the same as if they bumped into each other at Lenox Square in Atlanta for those who are familiar.
Aubrey would not need to follow Dolla… I dont believe every aspect of this story but because i know both parties i know that it is highly possible that much of it is true.
If you dont know ATL or LA culture you wouldnt understand certain aspects.

I just read everyone's response and all i can say is that I love and miss Roddy so much. I met him aabout 2 years before his passing and we became close like cousins not anything else. I am in Cleveland,Ohio.
