THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE Conjures Up Monica Bellucci — Playing Nic Cage’s lost love

When it’s not causing numerous injuries, Jon Turteltaub’s “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” is still casting up some roles and today Variety is reporting that the film has decided to add more hotness than is humanly required and cast Monica Bellucci as “Veronica” who is the long-lost love of Nic Cage’s sorcerer character, Balthazar Blake*.

The film revolves around a sorcerer (Cage) who recruits and trains a young protege (Jay Baruchel) to help him fight the forces of darkness in modern-day Manhattan. To be more specific, the forces of darkness is a film production that keeps injuring people who are unfortunate enough to be close by when filming is underway.
