Brett Favre Speaks
Brett Favre finally spoke on HBO’s Joe Buck Live. He didn’t come out and say he is going to be the QB for the Vikings, but it’s pretty obvious (actually it’s been for a while) that if his biceps tendon is healed enough for him to throw without pain, Brett Favre will be the next Minnesota Vikings QB. If not, he’ll stay retired…for this year anyway. So as you begin to assess your fantasy football rankings you may as well work under the assumption that Brett Favre is going to be the Vikings QB. At this stage in his career I would only trust Favre as a backup fantasy QB. If and when he signs Bernard Berrian should get a minor bump. He loves to throw the deep ball and Berrian would love to have a QB that could actually deliver an accurate deep ball. Sidney Rice could be a guy Favre chucks it up to in the end zone so he has some fantasy relevance. Bobby Wade and Percy Harvin should contribute in the slot. Of the two, I’d probably take Percy first since he is more explosive and could get some time in the Wildcat. Brett Favre has been fantasy friendly to Tight Ends in recent years so Visanthe Shiancoe would hold his value. At least we have an unofficial, official statement regarding Favre’s future so you can play your fantasy team accordingly.
