World Science Festival 2009
My good friend Lilibet Foster (who directed the movie version of A Patriot Act) has now produced three programs for the World Science Festival, which starts this Thursday. This work of hers deals with the gravest problems now confronting the environment: the disappearance of potable water; global warming; and the rising need for clean and safe alternatives for energy.
Please check out the website, and try to come to Lilibet’s programs (and whichever others interest you).

Hi Mark,
How are you? I hope that all is going well as always. I wanted to be sure that everyone in your blogosphere know about the environmental and religion programs that I’m producing for The World Science Festival (http://www.worldsciencefest.org). It starts this Thursday and runs through the weekend.
My programs are: “Rising Waters in a Thirsty World” — which deals with the global threat of riging salt water and shrinking availability of drinking water; “Carbon Conundrum: Testing the Earth’s Limits” about the threat of global warming and need to reduce carbon emissions around the world by the Climate Summit in Copenhagen in December; “A New Look at Nuclear Power” that discusses why nuclear seems to be coming back and whether there any solutions for the world’s problem of growing energy demand and global warming. I’m also producing Science Faith Religion with scientists who believe and disbelieve who will debate the issues at the intersection of these three realms.
I sincerely thank you for helping me to promote it. Would you let me know if there are any other groups (especially religious) who I should contact as well? My colleague Robin Reardon will be sending you some information should you want to pass it along. Let me know if you have any questions whatsoever.
Thank you very much and let me know if you want to come to any programs of the programs. There is an all day science event in Washington Square Park also which you should come to and bring your son…there are endless things going on for youths and adults.
I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully seeing you!
With best regards,
Lilibet Foster
