Brett Favre Calls Audible — Says No to Vikings
Brett Favre informed Brad Childress that he wasn’t physically and mentally prepared to play in another NFL season sending shockwaves across Minnesota and the country. Everybody pretty much assumed that Favre was just trying to get as much media attention as possible and he would commit at the last second. Well, I’m not fully convinced that Favre is done. My feeling is that Favre does not want to go through another training camp and will hope to catch on at a later date. The Vikings are almost stuck with the prospect of having to say yes if he wants again changes his mind since they have come this far. I feel if that happens the Vikings are doomed. The locker room would be split because the players have had enough. From interviews I’ve heard with Jared Allen, Favre would need to shed blood, sweat, and tears with the team during training camp to fit in. If Favre tries to ride in on a white horse to save the day, Jared Allen may use some of his rodeo tactics and rope Favre. Please don’t mention Michael Vick. Minnesota isn’t the place for him. If they are to implement the Wildcat, it will be Percy Harvin running it. That’s it on Favre talk. Until he changes his mind again.
