If we computerize our vote-counting, what feasible procedures for verification of computer accuracy and security can we use? How can we secure the paper ballots while they are out of public view between the close of polls and the “audit” procedures to be held up to 15 days later? Here are some problems that other jurisdictions have had–how can we ensure that we detect and correct errors when the computer errors are not so obvious? http://www.wheresthepaper.org/OpScansIntheNews.pdf
Why should we keep trying to keep our mechanical lever voting machines?
