Fantasy Hoops Roundtable: It’s Midnight Cinderella
Time for another fantasy basketball roundtable. Tommy of HoopsWorld.com was responsible for this week’s Fantasy Hoops Roundtable debate topic. Click here to see the full article . This Week’s Topic : Last week we highlighted players who had not lived up to draft day expectations, but were expected to turn it around over the second half of the season. This week, let’s flip it: Pick out a few players that performed like studs over the first two months of the season, but will turn into duds in 2010? My Response : It’s not that I think Baron Davis will fall flat on his face in 2010, but I am anticipating that he misses a few weeks with an injury at some point. He has played in more than 65 games just once in the past seven seasons. Additionally, he historically sees virtually an across the board dip in his production following the All-Star Game. Stephen Curry has played well this year, but I expect him to hit the rookie wall in the second-half. I’m not sure he can take the physical grind of an 82 game schedule with that frame. Plus, the Warriors will eventually get healthy, which will reduce his scoring chances. Finally, Brendan Haywood is due for a fall. He enters Monday’s (12/28) game averaging 10.5 rebounds, which is well above career high of 7.2 boards. That’s a big jump for someone in his ninth season. He also historically fades down the stretch, averaging just 5.4 rebounds from February to March.
