Iranian citizens and international mainstream media have reported that tens of thousands of opposition supporters took to the streets in Iran’s main theological center on Monday and clashed with pro-government militiamen during the funeral of the country’s top dissident cleric, Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri. In a design published in some opposition sites, Montazeri is sketched in green, the color of the Iranian opposition. It says ‘Send our greetings to Neda and Sohrab’ (two demonstrators killed by security forces in post-election protests earlier this year).

Here is a video of the funeral of Ayatollah Montazeri.

Nikahang, Iranian leading cartoonist and blogger, also published a cartoon remembering Montazeri.

There is another video showing a ceremony in Elmo Sanat University in Tehran for Montazeri. People shouted slogans such as “Montazeri is alive!” and “The green movement is in mourning!”
