Jet ski enthusiast Hoby Paulk will attempt a non-stop jet ski ride on July 10, 2010 beginning in San Diego, California and ending in Juneau Alaska. The ride should take approximately three to four weeks.

Braving the waters, high waves, cold-water temperatures in Vancouver and Alaska, as well as killer whales, great whites and exhaustion. Paulk vows to stay on the jet ski for the entire ride. He will eat and sleep on the jet ski until he reaches his destination.

Many may recall that a few years ago Paulk rode for charities and has lived on his jet ski for upwards of two weeks at a time. But this ride will be his ultimate ride and the most dangerous to date.

“I am now mentally and physically ready for this challenge,” stated Paulk.

In the past when Paulk devoted time and his jet ski riding for important causes, he was hiding a secret that was slowly encompassing his life. When he was not riding for national charities, he was suffering from serious addictions, which prevented him from participating in any rides for the past four years. Paulk is now a recovering drug and alcohol abuser.

Paulk explained that as hard as he tried for many years he was unable to break his addictions. He has finally succeeded and now wants to share his success and message with the addicts around the globe. This event will be for all those suffering addictions whether its alcohol, tobacco, prescription drugs, street drugs, and even food, with obesity on the rise in America beginning with our children.

“This ride will mean something personally to me, that I was able to take back control of my life, and now lead a clean, healthy, happy life. Paulk says he would do this ride if only to help one person. There are millions of people suffering and I want to be a role model to show that if a 52 year old grandfather and former addict can get well and attempt this ride, they can get clean and lead a healthy life too.”

Paulk has launched an organization to help people globally called “The Vision.”

The purpose of “THE VISION” is simply to define what will make our world a better place and what will make you and your family happier more complete human beings. As you will find out they are one in the same. As I talk with people, I hear repeatedly that our world is getting worse and that being only one person there isn’t anything that “I” can do. The point is you are one person and “as one person you can’t do everything, but as one you can do something and by doing something it will mean everything, “YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD”, stated Paulk.
