Don’t try to shut him down before he opens. This is good for penryn. I think the VC club will do well as long as he promotes his business. Maybe tune into the nostalgia and get some classic cars to patron the bar. It’s a little our of the way but a fun place to have a Cold one Or two.

I went to the Valencia Club a few months ago on a Sunday afternoon to see a friend of mine perform with his band; I hadn’t been there in over 20 years until then. They had no beer on tap, so all they serve is bottled; I imagine the new owner is still figuring out what brands to keep on hand for the regulars. When I was there it seemed really run down, and the area near the bar had the aroma of urinal cakes (but the ladies room was nice and clean). I hope the new owner fixes it up and encourages a broader customer base; this is an historic place and we need to try to keep all of our Placer County businesses going if possible. Good luck to the new owner!

Will they install hitching posts at the front? Horses are quieter than Harleys and a good horse can be used as a designated driver to take you home they find their way after a trip or two.
JG, it didn’t sound right to me either but hey, customer service is number 1

ok peeps give this guy his dream, he’s young has & a freash look on how to run the bar. Which it needs to be successful as a business.
I am very excited for Kevie & the VC. Even if you dont drink alcohol its a place you can have a soda and chat with your neighbors.
I do know that the CO2 system needs work, the last time i was in there they were serving from 2 liter bottles?? There has to be a way to overhaul the building with out losing its historical charm. I’ve seen the VC change hands so many times in my time but this looks like the best bet so far as owners go in the recent years. Now I am just curious, I am gonna have to make a stop on the way to the parents house. Good luck Mr. Kevie the VC needs to be open I hope you can find trust worthy staff (that seems to be a problem at any bar) I look forward to stopping in.

Ay ay ay!!! So many confusing posts! I feel like I need a beer!! Would the AJ do a story on some random guy who was in the bar who pretended to be the new owner? Who knows, but I’m sure the legal paperwork is available for public viewing and verification by the editors of AJ. But, I can see how the excitement of the VC’s reopening and getting the story in the paper negated the urgency to verify the new legal owners. I guess we all won’t officially know until the alcohol permit is hanging on the wall with the owner’s name. I drive by there every day. There is most definitely construction happening with a few construction trucks out in the parking lot, and all the doors are open whilst I see construction. I’ve seen a few lit neon beer signs in the windows, but the actual VC sign has not yet been on, and there’s no “Open” sign either. Might have to drop by and ask for myself, maybe get a Corona.

Really, are you trying to tell me the AJ is so desprite for stories they would do this interview and print it before there was so much as application permit to sell alchoholic beverages in the window? I would believe that!! But for a homeless guy to pose as the new owner and sell beer without a permit sounds a little fishy…..U know some of those pan handlers do make good money maybe even enough to buy a bar, and If that is the case is everyone that gave him a dollar now partial owner? If so Whats my cut?

If some of the comments are correct; it appears this story was not edited and the sources were assumed. In short there is doubt the story is based on facts and truth.

I think that when one is dealing with a business that sells acohol and the propietor states that “all the paperwork isnt final” or that he has no corona or that he has set up living quarters in the bar and there is a semitruck sized banner on the building still stating available for sale or lease that these may be tiny clues that the place is not yet open for business. I am really shocked that the paper wouldnt pick up on those things- its pretty amazing really. I would hope that they will call the owners on their next fake business opening! LOL!!! Detective work is going on there i’ll tell ya!

Well I guess he never thought that he would get caught. His face plastered on the front page of the AJ and never thought, duh someone might read this and oh yeah, we are not open yet, but I do need money to pay back every person that had bought me things, or borrowed money from. Get a real job dummy. Now you have to pay fines and restitution and for the roof over your head as well as the food. I do believe it costs $70.00 a day now.
