Should You Write Off Knowshon Moreno?
. Knowshon Moreno looked like the real deal coming into the league in 2009 out of Georgia. He had a nice size-speed combo and some solid hands. Oh how things have changed for Moreno. . He has deal with injuries that cost him three games in 2010 and nine games last year. Coming off a torn ACL makes 2012 a challenge out of the gate. . For starters, he lost his starting gig to Willis McGahee. While Willis turns 31 in October, he has had three seasons with the Ravens where he received 170 or fewer carries. Returning to a starting role he ran for 1199 yards despite a lack of a viable passing game. As long as Peyton Manning stays healthy, that shouldn’t be the case this year. . That, however, could work against McGahee. He is not as effective at catching the ball out of the backfield. That’s where Knowshon Moreno could come into play. . Which brings us to the competition. The Broncos drafted Ronnie Hillman from San Diego State with the 67th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. While the Broncos invested heavily in Moreno, that was under a different regime. This regime invested in Hillman, and the number two gig is his to lose. . Perhaps a fresh start is what Moreno needs. If he could fine a new home where he could work into the number two role perhaps he could restore some of his fantasy relevance. As it stands, he isn’t much of an option for fantasy owners. . .
